SUCCESS STORY

Meet Clifford

I’ve been converted to outdoor fitness, it’s a great mix of men and women of all ages with one common goal, keeping fit and having fun whilst doing so, it’s a very social past time.

"I’m in my late fifties and enjoy the camaraderie of people of all different fitness levels and ages"

I was looking for a way to keep fit after years of gym work and football and was persuaded to try Burn It by my wife.  After probably the toughest two first two sessions, I stuck at it, and with the help and support of everyone involved, I’ve pretty much attended two sessions per week since.  I have noticed a great improvement in my fitness level, I’m in my late fifties and enjoy the camaraderie of people of all different fitness levels and ages, the fact that Burn It is flexible and has six sessions per week to choose from in different locations is great! The instructors keep you guessing where ever you go, week on week so it never gets boring, I’m enjoying it and will keep going as long as I can.

What was your first session like?

As I had not done so much cardio work of that type for a long time, it was tough but enjoyable, with the help and encouragement from both the instructors and the camaraderie amongst everyone all going through the same journey as each other, just at different stages.

Did you think you would have stuck it out as long as you have?

After the two hardest sessions in the summer tour I must admit I thought about giving up, but after going back to the exact same place my first session was held (Murieston Trail), I’m proud to say I absolutely smashed it.  When I went back there it was about 4-5 weeks after my initial Burn It session and it was a great feeling of personal achievement realising how far I had come, this was with only two Burn It sessions per week.

What advice would you give to anyone else looking to try outdoor fitness?

Do it.  If you are looking to get fit it’s never to late to do so, at Burn It there are all types fitness levels and ages taking part, The Burn It team are exceptionally good at what they do, you pick your own pace, you will never get bored as it’s not repetitive, and the instructors will soon know your fitness levels and give you the encouragement you need to improve your fitness week on week.

Do you prefer the outdoors instead of the gym?

Yes! I’ve been converted to outdoor fitness, it’s a great mix of men and women of all ages with one common goal, keeping fit and having fun whilst doing so, it’s a very social past time.
