I went looking for something new and found Super Burn It. It was the beginning of September 2019 and my first encounter with Burn It Fitness. Well it was a fab 2-hour outdoor event with running, lots of exercise stations, multi coloured powder paint throwing and a huge bunch of like-minded people.
Me and Burn It Fitness
I’ve never really struggled with my weight, I’ve always been a member of a gym to try and improve my physical fitness and mental health. I took up running in May 2017 and have run many events for charity. In 2019 I ran 2 full Marathons 4 weeks apart and I was on a high, my furthest distance in running. Once these were done it was back to the gym, but was faced with cancelled classes, changes to the timetable and popular classes permanently removed.
I had, had enough! So, I went looking for something new and found Super Burn It. It was the beginning of September 2019 and my first encounter with Burn It Fitness. Well it was a fab 2-hour outdoor event with running, lots of exercise stations, multi coloured powder paint throwing and a huge bunch of like-minded people. I loved it and I was hooked, joined that evening and have never looked back.
Burn It Fitness is more than a fitness provider to me, it’s where I go 3 to 4 times a week to let off steam and release the daily stresses, I see people who I call my friends where we laugh together while improving our fitness at our own pace. There are all walks of life at Burn It sessions and that’s what makes it a family, we support each other whether your tall, short, large, small, fit or less fit … we are all there for our own reason and no one is judged. I simply love it.
Throughout lockdown PD (boss man) never turned his back on us, he zoomed us live sessions which were great fun, I did 106 live classes. My fitness never stopped throughout lockdown and this was thanks to Burn it Fitness!!
Joining Burn It Fitness has been THE best decision I’ve made with regards to caring for myself. The encouragement you get from all the instructors is amazing, they support and push you to keep going both physically and mentally. Burn It has taught me my body can do so much more and if I set a goal I will reach it. During a recent Burn It run club session I smashed my 5k and 10k personal best times, I was over the moon!! During my year at Burn It I have conquered running up and down Cockleroy for an hour as well as Preston Road and Kirkton Park, I’ve tackled thousands of burpees, bunny hops and many many more challenging exercises. Physically I am fitter than I have ever been but it’s not all about physical. Eating I make better choice as I understand calories v’s exercise. Mentally Burn It is my go to place, gives me time to think and it’s just for me (escape time from my 3 children).
Whether people are looking to get fitter, change their body shape, lose weight or simply just need outdoors come play in the park with Burn It Fitness.
